Vijay Varma Reveals He Was Surprised To Find Amitabh Bachchan Has Kept Track Of His Work: 'He Is Not An Icon Without Reason'

Bollywood with its whole content wave has finally arrived at a juncture where talent speaks for a film instead of the star power. The journey for outsiders has especially not been easy, who have tried to make their place in the filmdom with just their talent to back them but are finally seeing their hard work paying off.

Gully Boy’s Moeen, Vijay Varma who finally caught the eye of the audiences with the Zoya Akhtar film after several years in the industry, has bagged several big projects since and has a fan base sincerely following his career trajectory. Among the people who have been following Vijay's work includes Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who worked with the actor in Shoojit Sircar’s Pink.

After collaborating on the critically acclaimed project Vijay caught up with the living legend on the sets of Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo where he dropped by as he was filming for Mirzapur in Lucknow at the same time.

"I was shooting in Lucknow for 'Mirzapur' and asked Shoojit sir if I could come along. I was shocked when I reached the set to realise that Mr Bachchan had kept a track of the work I was doing. He even knew the ads I had done. It was simply amazing. He has really invested in my work. He is not an icon without reason,” the Ok Computer star tells Times Of India.

Vijay’s collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan also, in a manner, helped him mend fences with his father who didn’t support his choice to become an actor. Talking about how he reconnected with his father, Vijay says, "I think 'Gully Boy' did the trick. But I think what reassured him was the moment when he saw my picture with Amitabh Bachchan."
