    Mukkabaaz actor Vineet Kumar Singh on Friday brought attention to the plight of the common man in midst of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. While there are many on social media participating in debates about the ongoing Kumbh Mela and election rallies, the actor who is in his hometown Varanasi spoke about the lack of medical supplies and the inability of people to get tested amidst the piling on cases there.

     In a tweet posted in Hindi, Vineet wrote, “I am in Benaras, the markets have run out of medicines (FabiFlu). Private labs are unable to perform tests for the past five days. What do I give the sick? Your promises and your videos of extremely crowded rallies? That you people have been posting about regularly? Shame. Self interest blinds us. Wake up, the common man is dying.”

    Vineet’s post got thousands of retweets and also drew the attention of authorities who got in touch with the actor to aid him in this tough situation.

    The country has breached the 2 lakh mark in daily Covid-19 cases. On Thursday,  2,17,353 infections were reported in the country while news of medical infrastructure crumbling has been pouring in from several states.

    On the work front, Vineet was seen in the movie Adhaar earlier this year and will nect be seen in the social drama Siya.
