Indian Cricket Team captain Virat Kohli opened up about his first meeting with wife Anushka Sharma and how they hit it off during a recent chat with cricketer Dinesh Karthik. During the conversation the Indian skipper revealed that he was joking around the actress who he first met during the filming of a commercial and she was pleasantly surprised by it. The couple has been married for over 3 years and this year welcomed their firstborn, daughter Vaamika.

As Karthik mentioned his first meeting with the Bollywood actress, Virat said, “I joke around with everyone. I was joking around with her as well. She said, ‘it was the first time I saw someone around me joking about the things I have experienced as a child.’ So, that really connected.”

The Indian skipper and Dinesh Karthik sat down for the conversation ahead of India’ Test Series against England. Virat also said that he wished his father could have met his daughter Vaamika. The cricketer lost his father in 2006.

Talking about his father Virat said, “He hasn’t seen me play. Now with our daughter, I have seen the happiness on my mother’s face. You sit down and think what if he was still here.”

Virat has been joined by wife Anushka and their daughter on the tour on England.
