Vivek Oberoi Is Called 'Nepotism Born' On Social Media, Director Sanjay Gupta Defends Him

Vivek Oberoi had been one of the most promising debutants when he made his entry in Bollywood with Company. He was labeled as the actor to watch out for and has given some great performances to the audiences. However, he recently found himself in the middle of the insider v/s outsider debate, which has caught fire on social media after Sushant Singh Rajput's death. He was called 'nepotism born' by a Twitter user.

It was then that director Sanjay Gupta came to his defense. Replying to the comment, he revealed that Vivek's father, Suresh Oberoi, hand no contribution in his debut. He wrote, "What absolute nonsense. Do you have any idea what all he did to bag Ramu’s COMPANY? His Dad had no role to play in it. And his performance... definitely one of the best debuts of all time. " Check out the tweet here:

Vivek thanked Sanjay for siding with him and wrote, "Thank you Gups for standing up for the truth. Many of us chose the harder path and believed in sheer talent and merit. It feels unfair when people make uninformed comments like this, one such comment can brush away years of struggle and perseverance."

Vivek Oberoi played Narendra Modi last year in his biopic. The actor is turning a producer with his film Iti and Rosie, The Saffron Chapter. He has also promised that he would conduct talent hunts to give chance to those who are skilled. Sanjay Gupta, on the other hand, is busy with the multi-starrer, Mumbai Saga.
