When Deepika Padukone Admitted She And Ranbir Had Discussed Her Famous RK Tattoo, Revealed What It Meant For Her

Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor dating is old news. In fact, it has been over a decade since they broke up. The one thing that, however, caught the eyes of the fans even several years after they parted ways was Deepika’s famous RK tattoo that she had on the back of her neck. 

Even when both the stars had moved on in their lives the actress often made headlines for her ink and often also for concealing it but she never seemed uncomfortable about it even after a bad split. During a conversation with Simi Grewal on her chat show India’s Most Desirable in 2012, Deepika who then over Ranbir spoke about what the tattoo meant for her.

When Simi Garewal asked her what did it signify during the relationship the Om Shanti Om actress admitted, “I think that the importance of that relationship to me in life at that point.” On being asked about if she discussed with Ranbir before getting the tattoo Deepika admitted it was her choice. “Well, we discussed it… it was my decision.”

At the same time Deepika was candid enough to admit that she in no way regretted doing it even if things didn’t work out. “That is one thing I have no regrets about. It’s not something that I feel awkward about, it’s just there, I haven’t thought about it at all. I think it just brings back fond memories, forget the bad phase but just the kind of impact a person can have in your life. I think for me that’s what I take from a relationship,” she had said on the show.

Deepika also spoke about the break up and how Ranbir and she became really good friends after Deepika admitted, “Of course everybody goes through that hurting phase but I think I am past that now, we are very, very good friends and I think we are in this amazing phase today because we have spent such amazing time together. We know each other really well. I look at it as a wonderful experience.”

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone started dating soon after they entered Bollywood in 2007 and sadly broke up two years later in 2009. Now, a decade later Deepika is happily married to Ranveer Singh and Ranbir is in a steady relationship with actress Alia Bhatt.
