When Madhuri Dixit Revealed This Scene With Shah Rukh Khan In Devdas Was Improvised Because Of His Brilliant Acting

Madhuri Dixit has been the empress of the Indian Bollywood repertoire. Even though we don’t seem to see a lot of her on the big screen nowadays, but she definitely lights up the television with her occasional appearances.

Madhuri has been the favourite of many actors, she had a successful pairing with Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt and all the big male Bollywood stars of her times.

Her chemistry with Shah Rukh Khan was loved and appreciated by all and sundry in whatever films they were a part of together. Be it in Anjaam or Dil To Pagal Hai or Devdas.

The scenes in which the duo comes together is charged with an intensity that never fades off. In fact, in rewind, if one watches or recollects those scenes, they still manage to give goosebumps all over. Be it the emotionally charged scene In Sanjay Bhansali’s Devdas where Dev (Shah Rukh Khan) expresses his love to Chandramukhi (Madhuri Dixit) or the wedding canopy scene where Rahul embraces Pooja and she is drenched in his love forever.

It was during an interaction with Simi Garewal for her show 'Rendezvous with Simi Garewal', Madhuri spoke at length about Shah Rukh Khan as a lightning performer, “Shah Rukh Khan is a bundle of energy on the sets and what I like about him is, he likes to rehearse just as me.”

The actress with a million-dollar smile also went on to say, a lot of what one sees on screen between the two happens almost impromptu because of his brilliance, “He [Shah Rukh Khan] is also such a good actor that the scene just happens. There is a scene in Devdas where he confesses for the first time that he loves me and then we break down and then there is a little laughter and then we start… that just happened on the set, it was not planned and it was not in the script. When you are working with a good actor the give and take is so good that it inspires you as an actress."
