Will Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey Remake Be The Bollywood Debut For This Superhit Kannada Actress?

Post the stupendous success of Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor, it seems has turned his attention towards the South Indian film industry with renewed vigor. Although nothing has been officially announced yet, the conjecture is Shahid’s next project would be the remake of Telugu star Nani’s superhit Telugu film Jersey.

What is even more interesting is the fact that the Jersey remake could be the Bollywood debut of the popular Kannada actress Rashmika Mandana who was recently seen opposite Vijay Deverakonda in Dear Comrade. A source close to the development revealed, “Shahid and the makers met and they were brainstorming on who could be cast as the heroine and they all thought of Kannada actress Rashmika Mandanna who's a huge star already.”

“The producers were on the lookout for a fresh face and if Rashmika gives her nod, this will also mark her Hindi debut. She has watched Jersey and given how Kabir Singh has fared at the ticket windows, she has also expressed an interest in the Hindi remake. But the modalities and remunerations need to be finalized for now. The makers are planning to roll out the film by November this year,” the source added.
