Yoddha: Ranbir Kapoor, And Not Shahid, Was The First Choice For The Shashank Khaitan Film?

News of Shashank Khaitan's upcoming film, Yoddha, has been all over the headlines since the beginning of the week. While there has been no official announcement about the same, reports are already doing the rounds that Shahid would be the leading man and Disha Patani would be paired opposite him. Now, we have learnt that not Shahid but Ranbir Kapoor was the first choice for the action flick.

According to a report in Filmfare, Shashank had Ranbir in mind for the film. He had approached the actor too, but he turned it down. The reason for that is not known yet. It was then that Shashank approached Shahid Kapoor, who was excited to hear the script and had given his nod.

Disha Patani is said to have been approached for the role of the female lead. While it is more of a hero-centric film, she would have a significant role. Earlier, a report in Pinkvilla said, "Shahid has already signed on the dotted line for the same. The shoot is expected to begin sometime early next year after Shahid wraps up Jersey." Meanwhile, it looks like Disha has given her nod but is yet to sign the film.
