Zee Cine Awards Cancelled Due To Corona Virus, Will Be A Televised Event Now

Coronavirus fear is steadily gripping the nations. Many states in India have come to a standstill and Bollywood events have been cancelled. IIFA was postponed due to the virus scare. The Critics Choice Awards were also cancelled and now reports are that Zee Cine Awards, that was to be held today, has been cancelled as well.

Zee Cine Awards was supposed to be held tonight. It was to be a gala event with a huge gathering but at the very nick of time, the makers of the awards show have decided to cancel the event for the audiences. The audiences and the media will no more be allowed to be a part of the show.

Zee TV has issued an official statement that reads, “As a measure of precaution on account of the continuing concern over the COVID-19, the ceremony for ZEE’s annual film awards property - Zee Cine Awards 2020 stands cancelled for the general public, to avoid mass gatherings. Instead, the awards will now be shot as a televised event. We would like to assure the fans who had purchased tickets for the event through our associates and partners that they will be refunded at the earliest."

"Our viewers and fans can now look forward to catching their favourite Bollywood celebrities during the telecast on March 28 on ZEE TV and ZEE Cinema. Additionally, viewers can also catch these awards before TV on ZEE5.”

We at Desimartini.com got in touch with a spokesperson from Zee who informed us, “The media and the audiences will not be allowed to be part of the show and that people who have bought the tickets can rest assured because their money will be refunded at the earliest. The actors too will not be present altogether at the same time as it happens generally. The actors have been given time slots individually. They will be coming on to the stage and inside the auditorium according to their time slots and will do their performances, receive their awards and leave. The only people to be there for the span of the entire event will be the production unit guys and the stage-effect guys who are responsible for the entire look of the podium during the show along with some people from the Zee TV team.”
