Do You Know What Is Common Between Hrithik Roshan’s Mission Kashmir And Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju And Gangs Of Wasseypur?

Back in 2000, Diwali was quite a day at the box-office as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan starrer Mohabbatein clashed with  Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt’s Mission Kashmir. The film could not mimic the success of Hrithik’s debut Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, but his and Sanjay Dutt’s performance was widely appreciated and ‘Bhoomro Bhoomro’ became the jam of the year.

While the film was directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, a lot of young talent also worked on the film. Not many people know that Anurag Kashyap was the second unit director of the film. Not just that, the trailers and promos of the film were done by none other than Rajkumar Hirani. It is also interesting to note that Hirani still continues his association with Vidhu Vinod Chopra and his production companies which produced all the films that Hirani has directed so far.

The film, apart from Hrithik and the superhit songs was also in the news back in the day for its many controversies. Based on the sensitive issue of Kashmir militancy and a lot of people, including actor Sanjay Suri was miffed with Chopra as his father died in the Kashmir during the military unrest and Suri thought Chopra was glorifying militancy in the state.
