Whether you are a bona fide Shah Rukh Khan fan or not, whenever best performances of Shah Rukh are discussed, one of the first names that pop up in your head is that of Swades.

For this Ashutosh Gowariker directorial, Shah Rukh completely stripped off his superstar persona and gave us one of the most grounded, loved and relatable characters of his in Mohan Bhargava. Although the phenomenal performance by the entire star cast and Gowariker's flawless direction contributed majorly into making Swades a cult classic, the bigger chunk of the credit can be claimed by Shah Rukh who nailed it as the NASA scientist who comes to India and answers the call of his roots.
