Raghavan

Farah initially wanted Naseeruddin Shah to play the main villain Raghavan in the film. However, Naseeruddin Shah could not give enough time as he was shooting for The League of Extraordinary Gentleman. Later the role went to Kamal Hassan and Nana Patekar, but nothing worked out there either. Finally, it was Suniel Shetty who bagged the role. However, Naseeruddin Shah later did a small role as Shah Rukh’s father in the film.

Lucky

Zayed Khan did not have the most successful career in Bollywood, but Main Hoon Na is surely the biggest success story of his career. But before the role went to him, Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, and even Sohail Khan were considered for the role.

Chandni

It is impossible to imagine anyone but Sushmita Sen sashaying in those gorgeous chiffon sarees as Miss Chandni in Main Hoon Na, but if things went according to plan A, it would have been Aishwarya Rai who would have played the role. However, Shah Rukh did not want to work with Aishwarya at that time!

Sanjana

Believe it or not, but Amrita Rao came very close to losing the role of Sanjana. Makers at one point were seriously considering Ameesha Patel for the role but things did not go as planned.
