Aditya Narayan: ‘As long as I am hosting Indian Idol, no one needs to praise anyone for the heck of it’

The 12th season of Indian Idol has been making headlines ever since legendary singer Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar claimed that makers asked him to give participants uplifting remarks no matter what he thought of their performance. Soon, many others came out to support this revelation. Former judge Salim Merchant revealed that he was asked to praise the contestants but he never listened to the makers, whereas Sunidhi Chauhan shared that she parted ways with the singing reality show for the same reason.

In a recent chat with Spotboye, host and singer Aditya Narayan shared that he and the makers want to focus on the love and success of the current season instead of thinking about all the negativity that it received. He was quoted saying, “We are in the last four weeks of the show. We want to wrap up the season with love and positivity.” Aditya further stated, “Everyone who is giving quotes on being  persuaded to be positive about Indian Idol contestants are colleagues and friends. Let me assure them, as long as I am hosting Indian Idol, no one here needs to praise anyone for the heck of it.”

He went on to add, “Be yourself, say what you want and just come visit our show and bless us. I speak only for myself. I can’t speak on behalf of other seasons as the team / production was entirely different.” The team of Indian Idol is now busy gearing up for the Grand Finale of season 12.
