Indian Idol 11: Sunny Hindustani Wins The Show, To Take Home 25 Lakhs INR

The winner of this season of Indian Idol is here and it is none other than Sunny Hindustani. The singer, who has often been referred to as the ‘rooh’ of Nushret Fateh Ali Khan, has not just gotten a prize money of 25 lakhs INR and a brand new car but would also get a chance to sing a song for T Series. Sunny Hindustani has beaten finalists Ankona Mukherjee, Adriz Ghosh, Ridham Kalyan and Rohit Raut. Rohit became the first runner up and was followed by Ankona who has received prize money of 5 lakhs INR. Ridhan and Adriz finished fourth.

Sunny had also been one of the most talked about contestant of the show. His performance had been lauded by the contestants and many guests who had been a part of the show. From Kunal Khemmu to Ajay-Kajol and Ayushmann Khurrana, he had made many a star his fan.

After winning the trophy, the singer was quoted saying, “I had not thought of getting through the first round, leave alone winning the competition. I have come a long way and can’t believe that the journey has just started. From getting the opportunity to sing on such a big platform to winning the show is like all my dreams. I will always be thankful to the judges for mentoring and guiding me and to Sony Entertainment Television for giving me a platform to perform in front of legends of the music industry and an opportunity to meet so many stars. I can’t believe that the whole of India heard my voice voted for me wholeheartedly to make me Desh ki Awaaz.”

He had also sung a song in Emraan Hashmi-Rishi Kapoor starrer The Body. We are waiting to hear his voice as a playback singer.
