Indian Idol 12 Host Aditya Narayan Opens Up About Amit Kumar’s Remarks; Says ‘We Cannot Please Everybody’

After Indian Idol 12’s tribute episode for Kishore Kumar received backlash from netizens, the legend’s singer son Amit Kumar stated that he didn’t enjoy it either. He was invited to the show as a special guest but later claimed that he did what he was told by the makers-- gave out uplifting comments to the contestants no matter what he thought of their performance. Kumar even stated that he wanted to stop the show mid-way. Reacting to the same, host Aditya Narayan had said that if the singer was not happy he should have told the same to the team during the shoot. They would have tried to ‘accommodate his inputs’.

Well, in his latest interview with ETimes, Aditya opened up about the controversy and explained that people only complain about those who are successful and in the news, like Indian Idol is. He was quoted saying, “Some may like the singing of one person while others may not like it, and everybody is entitled to their opinion. So, all I would say is that we are always trying our best to honour music and musicians and the good part is that the majority of our audience loves our show.”

Aditya went on to share, “We cannot please everybody and we do not aim to please everybody. It is an impossible mission. We are not making a TV show for social media. Our content is aimed towards people who watch TV. We always put our best foot forward and things happen along the way. I believe we should respect everybody’s opinion but focus on putting on a good show and by the way the Kishore Kumar episode rated very well. And mind you we are not competing with Kishore Kumar. We are celebrating Kishore Kumar. Haven’t you seen at music lovers’ after party the kind of people singing Kishore Kumar songs? So, that’s it.”
