Krushna Opts Out Of An Episode Of Kapil Sharma’s Show Featuring Govinda; Says ‘Mama Might Take Offence To My Jokes’

One of the biggest superstars of Bollywood, Govinda graced the stage of comedian Kapil Sharma’s show last night. The Diwali special episode was loved by the audience and Kapil’s team also had a gala time chatting with Hero No.1. However the actor’s nephew Krushna Abhishek, who is an important part of the show, decided to give the episode a miss. For the uninitiated, the two cut all ties from each other two years ago after Govinda’s wife Sunita got offended by Krushna’s wife Kashmera Shah’s tweet about ‘People who dance for money’. Krushna had tried to explain that the tweet was for his sister Arti, but things did not get any better.

Govinda had featured in a special episode of The Kapil Sharma Show last year as well, with his wife and daughter Tina Ahuja. Back then Sunita did not want to share the stage with Krushna. In a recent chat with BT, Krushna stated, “I learnt about Chi Chi mama coming one the show around 10 days ago. Since Sunita mami wasn’t accompanying him, the team thought that I would have no qualms performing. However, the incident has left a bad taste in my mouth. Last year, she didn’t want me to perform in front of them, but this time, I had reservations.”

He went on to add, “I had a strong relationship with mama, and the enmity has affected me badly. When the relationship between two people is strained, it’s difficult to perform comedy. Besides, mama might take offence to my jokes. Achhi comedy ke liye set ka mahaul achha hona chahiye. I can vouch that it would have been like a house on fire even if I had performed as Krushna and not Sapna (the character he portrays on the show) with mama. I could have paid tribute to him on the show.”

We wonder if we will get to see the adorable mama-bhanja jodi together ever again! Krushna feels that can happen only on Kapil's show if Govinda calls him on-stge and clears the misunderstanding with him. Maybe next time?
