Ramayan’s Laxman AKA Sunil Lahri Reveals The Show Wasn’t Popular In The Beginning, Says He Even Regretted Signing It

Ramayan seems to have been an all time favourite show for the Indian audiences. When it had been aired almost over two decades back, it received tremendous reception from the audiences. And now, even when a rerun is aired, it shatters viewership records.  But back when it begun to air, it did not receive the tremendous response for quite a few episodes initially and it has been revealed by now other than Ramayan’s Laxman aka Sunil Lahri.

Talking to Pinkvilla, he said that the audiences began to appreciate the show only after the 6^th or seventh episode. This was back at a time when production of shows, especially of epic shows like Ramayan took a lot of time and money and one episode would be aired in a week. Sunil Lahri added that the show was loved by one and all and there was such madness about it that when he went out for grocery shopping or to take a stroll, people often touched his feet.

Sunil Lahri also revealed that he was not happy initially after signing the show! He said, “I wasn't very happy in the beginning when I was doing Ramayan because I lost a lot of film work because of this commitment. Today, I am happy because even after so many years people believe, recognise and are talking about it; it is more than what it was earlier.”

Well, the popularity of Ramayan is unparallel and its rerun just proved it all over again!
