Rubina opens up about her character Soumya as Shakti comes to an end; reveals when she will return to TV

After winning Bigg Boss season 14, Rubina Dilaik returned to the popular show Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki as our beloved Soumya, earlier this year. Fans were over the moon with joy to have her back on the social drama. But sadly, most good things eventually come to an end. As we all know thanks to social media, the cast of Shakti came together for the last day of shooting yesterday. The show will be going off air in the coming weeks after running successfully on television for 5 long years.

In a recent chat with Mid Day, Rubina expressed love for her fans and opened up about her character. She shared, “I have always maintained and continue to say that I am a fan of my fans. The amount of energy, love, support they give me and positivity they spread is amazing. One of the ways to see it is the characters you play are trending on social media. I’m absolutely grateful for their love. I’ve given my life to this character Saumya in ‘Shakti.’ I wanted to approach it with a clean slate and understand how the writers and makers have created her. I continued to learn as the character was building up and growing.”

The actress is currently busy with her Bollywood debut. She will begin her journey in the Hindi film industry with the upcoming movie Ardh, which is being directed by Palaash Muchhal. When asked when Rubina plans to return to television, the actress replied that the medium does not matter to her. All that she is looking for at the moment is a good script which offers her a new challenge. She went on to add, “I would love to get back on TV with a good character.”
