TV actor Shahbaaz Badi was involved in an accident in June. The actor, who has been part of Tv shows like Santoshi Ma, Sasural Simar Ka and played Mukul Dev’s brother in 21 Sarfarosh - Saragarhi 1897 had lost control of his car and had a major accident that took lives of two people. The car rammed into six people and killed a 25 year old man and his 18 year old relative. The car overturned because of the impact of the collision and even Badi’s wife was seriously injured. But now, the charge sheet is suggesting that his wife was on his lap at the time of the accident. According to it, witnesses have claimed that his wife was “found in a compromising position in her husband’s lap”.

Badi has been first booked under Indian Penal Code’s bailable sections 279 (rash and negligent driving) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) but was later arrested under the stringent IPC Section 304(II) for culpable homicide not mounting to murder which carries a maximum punishment of 10 years in jail.

While the prosecutor said that his wife was found with her head out of the window with her right leg near the brake and her other leg was spread across the gearbox, proving that she was in a compromising position, Badi’s lawyer claimed that it was due to the impact of the accident and that no one had actually seen her before the accident. Badi also presented a video taken moments before the accident to prove the claims to be false.
