TV Actor Karan Shastri Accused of Assaulting Wife Swati Mehra For Dowry, Complaint Registered With The Police

A complaint has been filed against TV actor Karan Shastri over an alleged case of domestic violence by his now-former
wife Swati Mehra. The actor who is based out of Indore married the model in February earlier this year after meeting on the sets of a film. The model accused him of divorcing her after his dowry demands were not met and also harassed her.

She alleged that she was tortured and the actor got physically violent leaving her with a torn ear. An FIR has been lodged against Karan in Mumbai’s Goregaon's police station and the case is being investigated. The duo started living separately shortly after their marriage and the TV actor maintains that the allegations levied against him are untrue.

Karan is of the belief that Swati wasn’t to ruin his career and malign his image and is thus accused him as such. He further argued that the decision for a divorce was reached as a mutual agreement between the two and he never hit her while they were married.

The details of the case now rest with the police and the matter will only be clarified once the investigation is done.
