5 Celebrities You Won't Believe Got Rejected In An Audition For A Reality Show

Reality shows have been platforms for many unknown faces to fast forward their way to success and to kick start a lucrative career in TV and Bollywood. Giving us stars like Sherya Ghosal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Dharmesh Yelande, Ayushmann Khurrana have entered show business via reality shows. But finding their way into reality shows isn’t that easy either and the accounts of some celebrities who found their way to success after getting rejected in these big reality shows are proof.

Sanya Malhotra – The Dangal actress has created a mark in Bollywood with her powerful performances in movies. The actress who is also an amazing dancer and used to be a choreographer got rejected for Dance India Dance, the reality which paved the way for many new choreographers in Bollywood. Sanya recalled that she made it to the Top 100 on the show but was finally evicted because her back story wasn’t strong enough. But the good thing that came out from the experience was that it brought her to Mumbai where her tireless attempts led her to the success she’s seeing today.

Rajkummar Rao – There is hardly anyone in the country he hasn’t won over with his acting abilities. He started his journey with small and insignificant roles in movies but is now an esteemed 100 crore club member as a leading actor and everyone wants a piece of him. But way before movies Rajkummar Rao came to Mumbai at the age of 16 to audition for the dance reality show Boogie Woogie which was a television sensation. The actor during the promotions of his movie revealed that he really wanted to be a dancer and the rejection on the show made his upset at the time but he was happy that it didn’t work out as he found a better career.

Kapil Sharma – The ace comedian has often put on display his singing talent and much before getting into comedy he had auditioned for Indian Idol where he got rejected. Years later when he turned up on Indian Idol as a guest promoting his show, he confessed that he thought that he would get to sing directly in front of the judges but got rejected even before that. Interestingly The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, the show that paved the way for his current comedy career, had also rejected him the first time around until finally going back and having him on the show.

Ayushmann Khurrana – The Badhaai Ho actor it seems wanted to be an actor much before he tried his hand at being a Roadie and then a VJ. The only acting reality show on TV India’s Cinestar Ki Khooj had rejected Ayushmann at the auditions, which led him to be a part of Roadies season 2. The multi talented Ayushmann revealed this secret on the set of India’s Cine Star Ki Khoj when he returned there as a bonafied celebrity and a guest.

Raghu Ram – We have seen him give all the contestants a tough time at the Roadies audition for years now and we never felt that he could ever have faced the situation the other way round. But surprisingly, he too ended on an audition for Indian Idol Season 1 where he was rejected by Sonu Nigam, Anu Malik and Farah Khan years ago in 2004. After seeing that one would have expected him to go easy on all the reality show aspirants he would meet but that isn’t the case.
