Aladdin: Ashi Singh Replaces Avneet Kaur As Jasmine After The Latter Walks Out Due To COVID Scare

Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga has been quite popular amongst viewers one of the reasons for that was the jodi of Aladdin and Yasmine- Siddharth Nigan and Avneet Kaur. They complement each other on-screen, so much that fans are of the opinion that the two are dating in real life as well. But soon, you would not be able to see the two anymore. That's because Avneet has quit the show!

Yes, Avneet Kaur has walked out of Aladdin. The reason seems to be the scare of the novel coronavirus. Talking to TOI, she had said, “I decided to leave the show because of the coronavirus crisis. I suffered from dengue last year but resumed work despite my immunity not being strong. There was the stress of preparing for my board exams, too, at that time. It made me really weak. So, I am scared of resuming shoots at the moment. My parents and I decided that it’s better for me to quit. I am sad, but health comes first.”

Ashi Singh of Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai would now replace her as Yasmine. So what prompted her to take up the role. in an interview with TOI, she revealed, "As an artist, I strive to play different roles, and Yasmine is unlike Naina. I had never imagined that I would be part of a fantasy show. So, when ‘Aladdin’ was offered to me, I didn’t think of anything else. Also, I will be performing action(sequences) for the first time on screen. I will work hard to play the part convincingly and the challenge involved in it is another reason that prompted me to take it up.”

She further added that she never wished to replace any actor in any show since the benchmark set by the previous actor is hard to match up to, but she hopes that this time, the lockdown and the show not being available would work in her favour and the audiences will be able to reconnect.
