Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Banerjee's parents: "We have lost everything, are now forced to live in one room"

It was back in 2016 when the nation received the shocking news of Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Banerjee's death. She was at the peak of her career, and was also reportedly looking forward to get married. The cause of her death was suicide, and her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh became the main accussed. Her parents also lodged a complaint against him. Now, in a recent interview, Pratyusha's parents have revealed that they are living in poverty.

Talking to Aaj Tak, Pratyusha's father Shankar Banerjee has said, "After this accident, it seems as if some terrible storm has come and has taken everything away from us. We did not have a single penny left with us. We have lost everything while fighting in the second case." The legal case was against Rahul Raj Singh.

He also said, "We are now forced to live in one room. This case took away everything from us. Many times, there has been a situation where we were forced to take loans," adding that he is writing, while his wife and Pratyusha's mother is working in a daycare to make ends meet. But, they are determined to get Pratyusha justice.

Rahul on the other hand had blamed her parents, especially her mother Soma's interference as one of the causes for her death. Earlier this year, he had said, "After Pratyusha, my life became like a story of TV show. And I'm still struggling for my happy life, but all this while I'm standing strong and I realised how my family and wife are helping to come out of this pain."
