Bigg Boss 14: Jaan Kumar Sanu's Anti Marathi Comments On The Show Invite Threats, Channel Issues Apology

Controversies are nothing new to Bigg Boss as a show but a recent comment by Jaan Kumar Sanu aimed at Nikki Tamboli for speaking in Marathi did not go down well with Shiv Sena leader Pratap Sarnaik and MNS leader Ameya Khopkar. When Jaan Kumar Sanu asked Nikki not to speaking to co-contestant Rahul Vaidya in Marathi because it irritates him and it invited threats against not just him but also Colors and Bigg Boss 14 as a show.

Ameya Khopkar in a tweet challenged Jaan Kumar Sanu to try making a career in Mumbai after these comments on the show and also called out the channel for not thinking to edit it out before broadcasting.

Viacom 18 the company that owns Colors the channel, has now issued an apology to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray writing a latter and apologizing for Jaan’s comments on the show and also promising to remove them from all future broadcasts of the show.

The letter read, “We have received objections regarding the reference to Marathi language during the episode broadcasted on 27th October 2020 on Colors channel. We have taken note of these objections and have taken corrective measures of removing the said part from all future broadcasts of the episode.”

Jaan Kumar Sanu is the son of noted singer Kumar Sanu.
