Chahat Pandey Opens Up About Her Ordeal, Says She Cried In Front Of The Producers And Had No Money For Her Rent

It was a few days ago that Tv actor Zaan Khan had opened up about the cast and crew of Humari Bahu Silk not receiving any payment for the show. He had also said how his co-star from the show, actress Chahat Khanna had been contemplating suicide because she had no money left. Now, the actress herself has opened up about her ordeal!

Talking to TOI, she had revealed that the entire team of the show had received only one month’s payment for seven months work. She also added that she had cried in front of the producers to pay at least some amount so that she could pay her rent, but they paid no heed! She said, “Whatever savings I had which I had earned from my previous shows I had invested while working on Hamari Bahu Silk. Whether it was for travelling, or on food or for paying my rent, I had exhausted all my savings. Things got out of hand for me, as I had no money and I had to pay rent of my house. Ultimately, the landlord asked me to either give him his money or vacate the place. I had no other option, I went to one of the Producer's office and cried in front of him. I weeped as I was feeling helpless. I pleaded in front of him to give my money, but he did not pay any heed to my request and once again told me he doesn't have money.” She also added that a few months back, they were given PDC cheques, all of which bounced.

She also opened up about having suicidal thoughts and that was when Zaan and her mother helped her. She said, “I went into depression as I had no money, no place to keep a fridge, TV and other stuff. I could not even vacate the house as I had no other place to go. I was feeling helpless as I had worked so hard on the show for one year, had exhausted all my savings on it and had not taken any other work during that period. And now, I was in a condition where I did not have money to pay my rent. I was so depressed that I called my mother and my co-actor Zaan and I told them I am unable to think anything and feel like ending my life. I was getting suicidal thoughts. I was in a very difficult situation and I can't describe it in words now. Then, Zaan, my mother and a few other friends made me understand. They calmed me down. Then finally I had to ask my parents to give me some money and they paid my rent in Mumbai.”

It is during this time that TV stars have opened up about their struggle with money. TV actor Manmeet Grewal had committed suicide because he was in a debt and had no money to pay rent. Ashiesh Roy, who has been in the ICU for dialysis revealed that he has no money to stay another day in the hospital. Sonal Vengurlekar also talked about how she is facing monetary issues!
