Erica Fernandes opens up about quitting Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, wasn't happy about 'how weak, confused' her character turned out

Erica Fernandes and Shaheer Sheikh would always be remembered as one of the top on-screen jodis of Indian TV. We loved the natural chemistry that the duo shared in Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi. In fact, the show was often lauded for showing how strong the female character Sonakshi was. Now, Erica would be bidding adieu to the show and in a long note, she opened up about this decision.

Taking to her social media, Erica thanked everyone for the love they had showered on the show, and on her character Sonakshi. However, she wasn't happy about the character's arc. She wrote, “As for Sonakshi a character so dear to you and me, a character that was an inspiration to many, a character who was so strong, smart, balanced … the Sonakshi we once witnessed in seasons 1 & 2, the one we expected to see this season too but unfortunately we had to see the complete opposite of what she was. I hope you'll always remember Sonakshi from the first 2 seasons and not how weak and confused she was made to look this season where in, in the first 2 seasons putting aside everything else. She at least had a job and an office to go to and not where she had to sit at home doing just nothing." Erica added that she chose self-respect, over a show so dear to her. See the post here:

Well, we can imagine the dilemma that she might have been in while making that decision, but this has to be well thought out. Sonakshi wouldn't be the same without Erica playing the character, but we are looking forward to seeing what she does next.
