    TV channels are bringing back old gems to entertain audiences during the coronavirus lockdown in the country when no shoots are taking place. After Ramayan and Mahabharat topped TRPs charts on their return, shows like Dekh Bhai Dekh, Khichdi are back and now even Hum Paanch is ready for a re-run on TV.

    Actress Rakhi Vijan who became a household name after Hum Paanch playing Sweety Mathur spoke about the show recently and revealed that her father was opposed to her becoming an interview with Pinkvilla. The actress is sp-ending some quality time with her parents during the lockdown and revealed they will as a family be able to see the show, "Finally, we will [watch the show] because initially dad and I never watched Hum Paanch. In 1996-1997, it was still a taboo for girls to start acting and my dad was so upset with me, he never watched my shows; he didn't speak to me, never saw my work."

    Given her success on TV the fact certainly comes as a surprise but we are glad that the rerun of show is giving her an opportunity to catch the rib-tickling comedy show from the 90’s that was everyone’s favorite.

    The actress who is currently doing Naagin 4 with Ekta Kapoor also spoke fondly for her. "Ekta was 16 when she started Hum Paanch. She is a creative and hard-working girl. She used to come on sets and brief us, jack us when we weren't good, praise us, she used to sit with us. Once we would get a briefing from Ekta, no one could fail as an actor,” she told the portal.

    The show also starred Ashok Saraf, Shoma Anand, Vandana Pathak, Amita Nangia, Priyanka Mehra, Bhairavi Raichura and Vidya Balan and aired from 1995 to 1999.
