Indian Idol 12: Randhir Kapoor gets teary eyed remembering late brothers Rajiv & Rishi Kapoor during Pawandeep's performance

The Indian Idol 12 contestants honored the legacy of late actor Raj Kapoor and his family through music and veteran actor Randhir Kapoor was the guest. The show no doubt had its fun and emotional moments but contestant Pawandeep Rajan’s performance, in particular, moved Randhir to tears as he was reminded of his two late brothers Rajiv and Rishi Kapoor.

Randhir, who graced the show for the second time thanked Pawandeep for his moving tribute as he sang Raj Kapoor’s famous ‘Jeena yahan aarna yahan’ from Mera Naam Joker. During the performance pictures of the Kapoor family flashed in the background which showed the three brothers, Randhir, Rajiv, and Rishi together.

A teary-eyed Randhir sharing his views on the performance said in Hindi on the show, “This brought back memories and these photos reminded me of my brothers who recently left us. Wherever they are, I hope they're all happy and safe. Thank you, Pawan for doing this tribute."

Randhir lost both his younger brothers in less than a year’s time. While Rishi Kapoor tragically passed away in April 2020, after a battling cancer for two year, Rajiv Kapoor suffered a heart attack at home in February 2021.

The special episode will air on Sony Entertainment Television today.
