We at Desimartini.com exclusively got in touch with the actor who was in the midst of a controversy after a woman alleged the actor molested her on the pretext of getting married and also demanded a hefty sum from her. “The idea of my first book was born out of a not so pleasant episode that happened in my life. When I saw the all-around similar misery, across all socio-economic profiles, deeply scarred and affected by the malaise, I felt their story was something that had to be told immediately without any delay irrespective of my hurt and pain,” says Karan.

Karan who has been the poster boy of the very first Indian boy band further stated, “I decided to pen down a brutal commentary that would highlight the underbelly of a system that is being manipulated for all the wrong reasons,” he quipped.

The book will be out as soon as the lockdown gets over.

Karan has also finished his second book, which is a breezy tongue in cheek look at modern relationships with the backdrop of the music industry. And the third is halfway through – It is again a man-woman relationship drama.

“I have used the lockdown quite effectively to get all this done and I hope to author quite a few books by the time I am done. It’s something that I enjoy," he further states.

Karan further went on to share more on his journey of becoming a writer. Turns out, he had a natural flair for storytelling since his school days. “I was always passionate about writing ever since my childhood. This love for writing was affectionately guided and encouraged by Shivam Nair, Director of ‘Ahista Ahista’, ‘Naam Shabana and ‘Special Ops’. A long time back, we worked in a series together. On the sets, both of us would spend a lot of time brainstorming ideas and that pushed me in this direction. Post that I continued the writing process and would share my scripts with him. He would always take time off and give me constructive feedback and that’s how my interest further strengthened,” he shares.

We can’t wait for the release of his debut book as it would be interesting to read the first-hand account of Karan’s struggles with the episode that turned his life upside down.
