Actor Karan Singh Grover who is playing the role of Mr. Rishabh Bajaj in Kasautii Zindagii Kay has stepped into the shoes of Ronit Roy who made his mark as one of the most famous characters of Hindi television. Almost all the characters in this daily soap have gone through a round of comparisons, right from Prerna which was earlier played by Shweta Tiwari and now by Erica Fernandes, to Komolika that was earlier played by Urvashi Dholakia and was played by Hina Khan in the reboot. The Dill Mil Gaye actor has already started shooting for the episodes and in one of his recent interviews, the actor who has been a part of both seasons answered questions about his co-stars.

In an interview with BollywoodLife Karan was asked who according to him was a better Prerna and Komolika. The actor went on to praise the actors from the first season paying an ode to the original season. “Shweta Tiwari as Prerna and as an actor is very intense. There are not many people who can be compared to her.” Talking about Urvashi Dholakia playing Komolika he added, “Urvashi portrayed Komolika with such panache and such style that you can’t really think anyone can do better than that.” He further continued, “Having said that, the way Erica is playing Prerna is in dimension to the character. And the manner in which Hina portrayed Komolika is also on a different level. She plays it with such ease and style. You cannot say who is better. Maybe the viewers watching it will be able to make this decision, but we actors cannot really compare each other.”

While talking about comparisons of his character to that of Ronit Roy’s role of Mr. Bajaj, KSG had said in a statement, “Comparisons are bound to happen and it is good. But I will stay away from it. I will just concentrate on performing as the new age Mr. Bajaj. I need to pay attention to my performance. I believe in staying true to the story, the writing, the character that you are playing.”
