Global economies are taking a hit amidst the fight against the pandemic COVID-19. While Bollywood is busy spreading awareness on how to stay safe and the country is under a lockdown, TV host Maniesh Paul shared he was asked to crack jokes on the coronavirus spread at a recent award show.

Taking to ETimes, Maniesh revealed, “Before the lockdown, I did a show and no offence, there were jokes on Coronavirus. I was told that it is the mood right now. I said, ‘Listen, bro for me Corona is not a joke. It is a big thing and people are suffering because of this. I can’t make fun of it.' This is my sensibility. Many times I also get jokes written about seniors but I don’t use them. I respect them and don’t want to cross that line. I don’t crack demeaning jokes.”

Maniesh is busy spending time at home with his family as also urging fans to do the same. The actor and host donated Rs. 20 lakhs to the PM-CARES fund to help the nation fight against the disease. At home the actor is learning how to cook and in his chat also revealed he now knows how to make toor daal and will now learn to make pasta.
