Midnight's Children: TV Actor Shalin Bhanot Approached For A Role In The Vishal Bharadwaj Film?

The news of an adaptation of Salman Rushdie's 'Midnight's Children' has been doing the rounds for quite some time now. It was being said that the film would be made for Netflix and Vishal Bharadwaj would direct it. Ishaan Khattar was to play the lead, but he was later dropped from the project. Now, we are getting to hear that TV actor Shalin Bhanot has been approached to play an important role in the film.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the actor has apparently been signed for a pivotal role in the film. It also mentioned that the casting is on full swing and more people will come on-board for the film. No official announcement has been made yet and Shalin too has not commented on these reports!

Shalin was last seen in Ekta Kapoor's Naagin 4, where he played the husband to an icchadhari Naagin played by Sayantani Ghosh. His role in the show was short and he was killed off after the initial episodes. We hope that this news is true indeed and we get to see Shalin in this film by Vishal Bharadwaj.
