Naagin 5: Is Mahek Chahal Ekta Kapoor’s New Naagin?

There had been a lot of confusion over the fate of Naagin 4. The show had been doing quite well and the viewership went up when Ekta Kapoor introduced Rashami Desai, who had still been basking in the tremendous fame and support received from Bigg Boss 13, as Shalakha in the show. However, the coronavirus outbreak happened, the show was stalled due to the lockdown and now the czarina has herself admitted that Naagin 4 would go off air soon after the lockdown, with just a few finale shows being shot. Speculations for season 5 are already high.

After it had been reported that Beyhadh 2 actor Shivin Narang might play the male lead in the serial, now we are getting to hear that Ekta might have found her Naagin for the next season as well. If a report by Pinkvilla is to be believed, it is none other than Mahek Chahal. The portal claimed that a source close to the production has said that Mahek is in the race to be the new Naagin, even though the actress herself has denied the reports. In fact, it is being said that the makers are looking for newer faces who would not become a costly resource since the cost of production is expected to go down by 30%.
