Paras Chhabra Reveals His Splitsvilla Co-Contestants Called Him 'Hakla' & Mocked Him For His Stammering Issues

Paras Chhabra’s journey to fame and recognition has not been an easy one. Detailing his struggles the actor in a recent interview detailed how his career had been a bumpy ride till Bigg Boss 133 happened. The former Splitsvilla winner revealed how he had been fired from multiple jobs as a teen right from working at a call center to working in a cold storage and finally started modeling in 2011 and Splitsvilla happened in 2012.

It was after Splitsvilla that Paras’ struggle in the entertainment world started. Despite giving multiple auditions he was not selected for any of them until he was called back for another season of Splitsvilla in 2015. “I don’t even remember the number of auditions I gave during that period. Ek time ke baad toh maine haar Maan li.., (after one point I gave up) I tried hard and was doing episodic shows. And people who would see me would always say that you will easily get a serial, you don’t need to worry, but it was not working out even though I was giving auditions,” the actor told Time of India.

Paras also spoke about being jobless and without money in 2016 again. He also touched upon how he had stammering issues in his years growing up and giving auditions after Splitsvilla helped him concentrate and get over the issues. One thing, however, that the actor never got over was how during his days on Splitsvilla his co-contestants would poke fun at him and call him a ‘halka’ who would not get any work. “I remember the co-contestants with me in Splitsvilla; they would pass comments that no one would give work to him, they would call me ‘hakla’. He won’t get work but I feel God is great that I have achieved success in life,” he said.

Bigg Boss changed things for Paras drastically and the actor is now juggling multiple projects and is widely known for his performance on the season which was won by Siddharth Shukla.
