Rajeev Khandelwal Reveals He Wasn't The First Choice To Play Sujal In Kahiin Toh Hoga & We Wonder How That's Even Possible?

Rajeev Khandelwal was a hit with the audiences with his very first show on television Kahiin Toh Hoga which later became a pedestal for bigger highs in his career. The actor who played Sujal on the Ekta Kapoor show made girls swoon with his effortless charm and, however, reveals that he wasn’t the first choice for the role despite having auditioned for the part.

Rajeev’s who auditioned for two Ekta Kapoor shows had bagged the lead role in Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat while Kahiin Toh Hoga went to another actor. To top it all Rajeev reveals in a chat with ETimes, that his first instinct having bagged an Ekta Kapoor show, which is no small feat, was to say no.

In the interview, he recalled, “I was told that I should audition for 2 shows- not just 'Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat...' but even 'Kahiin Toh Hoga'. I was perhaps somehow scared of the whole audition process, I guess. But I auditioned for it. So yeah, I got selected but believe me, my first instinct was 'No, I don't want to do it'.”

He, however, got to play both the roles and revealing how Kahiin Toh Hoga happened he added, “I was eventually told that they are doing 'Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat' with me as some other actor is doing 'Kahiin Toh Hoga' and I said 'Chalo yaar, kar lete hain. Let me test the waters and see how good an actor I am." One day, I got to know that the male lead of 'Kahiin Toh Hoga' was going to be replaced; Ekta told me that she wanted me to play Sujal.”

Well, years after the show has ended we can’t still imagine a better pick for Sujal so we are glad that he did not refuse the TV shows and we are sure even Rajeev is.
