Rashami Desai On Discrimination Faced By TV Stars Reveals How Even Designers Refuse To Offer Dresses To Them

Rashami Desai who has been a popular face on Indian television for a while now has opened up about the discrimination faced by TV actors in the entertainment world as opposed to actors from the film industry. Rashami revealed how fashion designers refuse to dress TV actor and look down upon them.

In a chat with Spotboye, Rashami revealed, “Yes we are told ‘TV me bahot dikh gaye ho, aapka exposure bohot ho gaya hai. Accha, TV actress hai, hum unko designer kapde nahi denge, ya shayad inko placement is hisaab se honi chahiye’ (You have been exposed a lot on TV. Oh, she’s a TV actor, we can’t give her designer clothes. They should be placed in a certain way). So there’s a big struggle for television actors who have achieved something because coming from nowhere and becoming something and trying to achieve your dreams is definitely not easy.”

The former Bigg Boss contestant spoke after Hina Khan who had walked the Cannes red carpet last year and revealed in an interview that designers refused to dress her because she hailed from the TV industry and they believed she couldn’t carry their outfit. Hina who made her debut in the movies recently also spoke about how TV actors are not given equal opportunities in the film industry.
