Rubina Dilaik Opens Up About Battling Depression And Overcoming Suicidal Thoughts, Says She Turned To Yoga And Meditation

Rubina Dilaik had won hearts with her performances in Tv shows like Shakti and her stint in the controversial reality show Bigg Boss 14. In fact, people loved her so much that she emerged the winner of the show. During her stay, she has once revealed that she had battled depression and even had suicidal thoughts at a point in her life, 9 years ago. Now, in a recent interview, she has opened up about it.

Talking to Bollywood Bubble, Rubina described how she felt and said, "Unstable, over-ambitious, insecure, not knowing what to do. Not understanding how to handle professional life with personal life. Away from family, too much into work that did not give me time to make friends. In that situation, you just isolate yourself from the possibility of leading a happy, fulfilled life. That creates lack of empathy towards yourself."

She also added, You just cannot figure out what is happening. You start thinking 'why am I irritable, why is there no one around me. Why can I not achieve success'. Too many questions and no answers. There I realised that the problem is somewhere within. There is a lot that I cannot understand, but there is also nobody to guide me. We do not have formal education about it, no one talks about depression."

It was then that she turned to Yoga and meditation that helped her. She revealed, "All I had was turning to self-help books, listening to audiotapes. Even asking for a psychologist was a taboo. I looked for it online. I think it was a blessing that work wasn't that great and relationship was at the lowest and I was looking for something to hold on to. I found yoga and meditation. I looked online to understand what was wrong. Thankfully, I figured out."

Well, we are glad that she was able to recover from it without any help, but we hope that now people would have more access to counselors and psychologists to get over bad mental health sooner.
