Saumya Tandon Confirms Exit From Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain Says, 'Don’t See Myself Doing It For Another Five Years'

Speculations over Saumya Tandon’s exit from Bhabhji Ghar Par Hain have been doing the rounds for some time now. The actress has now finally confirmed her exit from the show and said that she has completed her notice period on the show and August 21 will be her last day of shoot as the popular ‘Anita bhabhi’ on the show.

The actress confirmed her exit after being a part of the popular comedy show for five years but it is not for the reasons that are being speculated. Unlike the other cast members, Anita chose not to renew her contract as she doesn’t see herself doing the show for another five years. It was earlier speculated that her concerns for family and the pay cuts due to the pandemic were her reason to exit.

Talking to Bombay Times Saumya Said, “I realised that being employed and earning a regular income was not exciting enough any more. I want to do projects where there is scope for growth as an artiste. Having said that, it does not mean that 'Bhabi Ji...' did not contribute to my growth, I had a beautiful journey on the show. However, I have played this character for five years now, and I don’t see myself doing it for another five years.”

The actress further said that her decision was accepted amicably by the producers but her decision wasn’t impulsive. Talking about her plans for the future Saumya added, “I want to be part of well-written stories. People are writing good scripts on other platforms; even Bollywood is experimenting with good content. I will miss the entire team of 'Bhabi Ji...', but I have to push myself out of my comfort zone and take new risks in life.”
