Union Minister Smriti Irani was apparently mistaken for a common fan trying to enter the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show as she arrived there without any security detail to shoot as a guest. The incident happened recently as a private security personnel outside the set of the popular comedy show didn’t let the Minister of Women and Child Development enter

Smriti is all set to make her debut as an author with her book Lal Salam and had arrived to promote the same as a guest on the show. According to a News 18 report, Smriti tried to reason with the security who misunderstood the whole situation thinking no Union Minister travels without security and in the absence of any she had to wait 30 minutes outside the sets post which she decided to take off.

The guard apparently didn’t believe Smriti who told him who she was and since she only had an hour to spare for the shoot and had already waited for half an hour outside, she left without shooting since she had a flight to catch for New Delhi. Kapil Sharma obviously came to learn about the issue later and apologized to Smriti for the misunderstanding. The comedian apparently also scolded the security guard for this who explained his reason by asking, “When do ministers travel without security?"

It remains uncertain whether Smriti will give another slot from her schedule to make up for the misunderstanding and shoot for The Kapil Sharma Show.
