The Kapil Sharma Show Fans Might Have To Wait Longer For The Show's Return; Indian Idol 12 To Continue Running Instead

The Kapil Sharma show has been missing from television for a few months now and the fans are certainly feeling the absence of the show. Well, their disappointment is about to run deeper as the comedy show which was expected to return this month faces further delay.

The reasons of the delay are quite predictable. While Mumbai remains in a lowdown due to the raising Covid-19 cases and shoots are not permitted in Maharashtra, the show will also be running short of star power which makes the format of this comedy special unique.

A Dainik Bhaskar report claims that this was also the reason why the makers decided to take a break in the first place. With no movies to promote, the show couldn’t hold up without celebrity guests for much longer. As there are no releases, the plan to bring back the show has been pushed forward to June.

If the situation doesn’t improve and shoots do not resume in Mumbai the delay might reportedly be longer. In the meantime, Indian Idol 12 which has been running for the past six months on Sony TV, has been given an extension. Bhaskar has a source claiming that the show was supposed to conclude in April.

The singing reality show is still going strong with 9 contestants performing week after week with no eliminations.

Comedian Krushna Abhishek in an interview with a daily had earlier spoken about the show’s return and said, “The show is returning to TV in May. We haven’t finalised the date yet. Yes, there will be new things this time also. The set will go under a revamp. We will have a new set and there will be a few new additions also and I will give you good news about it soon.”
