TV Actor Ankit Gera Responds To Rumours About Quitting Acting, Says He Is On ‘A Break’!

Ankit Gera is a popular name in the TV industry and has been part of many popular shows like Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya and Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke. The actor made heads turn with his stint in Bigg Boss 9. But for over a year now, he has been missing in action for quite some time. This had sparked rumours that the actor might have quit acting. In fact, he has also been staying in Delhi for some time.

But the actor has now decided to address these rumours. Talking to Bombay Times, he said that he can never think of quitting acting.

“I have been working continuously for the past 11 years, so I decided to take a break from television. I will never quit acting, that’s for sure.”

He explains that he wanted to be with his parents. “I cannot ask my parents to leave everything and shift to Mumbai with me, so I decided to return home to spend some time with them and help them with their business as well. I left home at a very early age, so I didn’t get much time to spend with them. Our business is also picking up pace, so I wanted to help, and it never hurts to have an alternate career option. I think every actor should have something to fall back on in case their acting career doesn’t do well.”

In fact, his parents have extended their support in this decision! “My parents were very happy when I told them about my decision. Ever since I have come home, I have been able to sleep really well. On a serious note, as actors, we are under very harsh lights on the sets, and it had started to affect my eyes. My doctor asked me to get some rest,” the actor quipped.

So would he not appear on the screen anytime soon? Ankit said,

“I will be happier doing short films or music albums at the moment as they won’t require me to stay in Mumbai for a longer duration. In fact, I have started my own production house and I am doing a lot of Punjabi music albums too. So, I am definitely not disappearing from the screens.”

Well, we hope we get to see him doing something different and exploiting his talent in something different!
