Fanney Khan’s Halka Halka Suroor Is Finally One Recreation We Are Not Mad About

The new song from Aishwarya Rai, Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Fanney Khan is out. Famous ghazal Halka Halka Suroor Hai by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has been recreated by the supremely talented Amit Trivedi and sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Divya Kumar.

After seeing the brutal murder of several old favorites this year, this is finally one re-created song that is not shredding our nerves and tainting the memories of the original version.

Fanney Khan is being directed by Atul Manjrekar and will hit the theatres in 3^rd August 2018

Groovy Peppy Makeover

Only a man of quirk like Amit Trivedi could have given a proper classical ghazal such a groovy and preppy makeover without making it sound ridiculous. The foot tapping music has every possibility of becoming a party favorite among masses. Sunidhi Chauhan and Divya Kumar’s voice are a careful and wise selection as Sunidhi’s voice does perfect justice to the groovy appeal of the song balanced by Divya Kumar’s voice that adds just the right of boldness and abundance that highlights the ghazal part of the song.

Rajkummar Rao and Aishwarya Rai’s Cute Chemistry

The song has been picturized on Rajkummar Rao and Aishwarya and is looks like the montage of them falling in love. The chemistry between this fairly unpredictable pair, although not effortless, looks interesting and is getting us interested in the story.

Awkward Aishwarya Looking Gorgeous

Aishwarya Rai in her red hair and a gorgeous wardrobe looks like the ultra-glam diva that she is. However, there is something about her body language that looks off in the song. She looks gorgeous but somehow is not being able to channel the rockstar vibes that her character needs to have in the film. She is either trying to pull off a cool swagger which extremely different from her polished and poised self, neither does she look believable while dancing with abandon on the road in a baraat procession. It is a neither here nor there situation. However, her red glittery jersey shirt is surely going to spark off a serious trend. Also, is it just us or the red glittery reminds you of Kangana’s Tom Ford dress?

Irshad Kamil’s Lyrics Do Justice

One of the main obstacles about rehashing a ghazal is to make it work with the groovy number while keeping the poetic sanctity of it intact. It is a tall job, and there is no one better than Irshad Kamil in the business to do that. The lyrics validates this marriage between ghazal and groove and does justice to the song. ‘Main dekhoon jo tujhko to pyaas barhein, tu roz, tu roz, do ghoont chadhein’ although nothing groundbreaking or novel works for the song.
