After the beautiful romantic track Chaav Laga, the makers of Sui Dhaaga has released yet another song from the film. The new song Khatar Patar might not be the most beautiful melody, but has a tone to it that is lifting. Composed by Anu Malik the song is the title song of the Varun Anushka starrer Sui Dhaaga which is being directed by Sharat Katariya and is hitting the theatres on 28th September. Here is what we thought about the film.

    Sound Of Success

The song takes you on a journey of Mamta and Mauji’s success in the film. The visuals of the song opens with Mamta and Mauji entering an old ruin of a house and then slowly building it into their workshop and having the first taste of their success. While people start joining their humble ‘Made In India’ business, the song chronicles how these two with their hard work, love and constant companionship inch closer to their ambitious dream.

    Poetry Overpowers The Music

The melody of the song has been composed by Anu Malik and has a nice happy feel to it. However, the lyrics of the song has been penned down by the exceptionally talented Varun Grover. While the music is not bad, the colloquial and simple yet beautiful lyrics surely deserved a better music. ‘Kismat phati to chadar…hum bane sui dhaaga’ is such a beautifully simple way to put things that only Varun Grover could have managed.

    Sung By Papon

After the duet Chaav Laaga with Ronkini Gupta, this is the second song of the film that has been sung by Papon. Given the unique texture of his voice, an extra layer is added to the song which sounds quite pleasant.

In the song, Mamta and Mauji is shown setting up their workshop or factory from the very scratch and thus there are a lot of interesting details that will catch your eyes. From Varun putting a thread in an old world handloom or Anushka using the age old method of hand block printing, the songs gives you a peek into the sense of pride in old artisanal techniques of our country that the director will surely be upholding in the film.
