WATCH: Mindy Kaling’s Mother Yells At Her In Hindi In The Ocean's 8 Trailer!
The first trailer for Ocean’s 8, a spinoff from the popular Ocean’s 11 series of heist films, was released online on Tuesday. The film will focus on the adventures of a new team - all women - led by Sandra Bullock’s character.
The trailer spends most of its two-and-a-half minutes introducing this team. Like every heist film, each member has a specific skill for which they’ve been brought on. Indian audiences will be pleased to see Mindy Kaling’s character, and her displeased mother.
Here’s the set-up: Danny Ocean’s estranged sister Debbie attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew: Lou, Rose, Daphne Kluger, Nine Ball, Tammy, Amita, and Constance.
While there have been rumours of George Clooney making a cameo appearance, the sight of his headstone in this trailer brings up interesting questions.
The film also stars Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway , Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, and Richard Armitage. There will be cameos by Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift and others. Ocean’s 8, directed by Hunger Games’ Gary Ross, opens in theatres on June 8, 2018.
