Quirky And Dark, Andhadhun Trailer Has Got Us Intrigued
The trailer of the film Andhadhun, starring Radhika Apte, Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu is out and its looks totally interesting. The film which was previously named Shoot The Piano Player looks like a potent thriller. Directed by Sriram Raghavan whose last film Badlapur took everyone by surprise has directed the film which will hit the theatres on 5th October. Here is what we thought about the trailer.
A Perfect Shriram Raghavan Thriller
Shriram Raghavn has always been the man to trust in Bollywood for dark thrillers. From Ek Hasina Thi to Badlapur, he has a signature tone to his films which is apparent in the trailer as well. The story revolves around a blind piano player, the ‘love of his life’ and a middle-aged wife who all gets embroiled in a murder mystery.
An Interesting Assembly Of Cast
The cast consists of Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte and Tabu who are all working together for the first time. Given how exceptionally talented these three actors individually are, it will really interesting to see their chemistry unfold on screen in a film which will probably be capable of harnessing their best potential.
Unusual But Effective Music
Since the story revolves around a piano player, music is surely going to be an important aspect of the film. But piano, especially in background scores, is not something that is used very often in Hindi films. But with this film, the music is able to perfectly reflect the mood of the film and sounds very fresh and experimental.
A Quirky Sense Of Humor
Although the movie is going to be dark murder thriller, it looks like there is a good dose of quirky humor thrown into the mix as well. From the dialogues to the sequences, the trailer looks like Raghavan has managed to strike the perfect balance of quirk, humor and dark murder mystery.
Not Just A Murder Mystery
Apart from the murder there is another mystery that is making this film all the more interesting. Although Ayushmann in the film is said to be a blind piano player, many of the scenes are making us wonder if Ayushmann is really blind or just pretending to be one to get away with something.
Reminding Us Of Being Cyrus
From the setting of the film to the dark and quirky tone, the film is majorly reminding us of Homi Adjania’s masterful film Being Cyrus starring Saif Ali Khan which came out in the year 2006 and is one of the most underrated thrillers ever.
