Sara And Sushant's Kedarnath Teaser Packs A Solid Punch

After a ton of controversies and delay, Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath is finally seeing the light of the day. Set against the backdrop of the terrifying floods that ravaged the state of Uttarakhand, especially Kedarnath in 2013, the film is all about love in times of adversity.

Apart from Sushant Singh Rajput, Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan is making her debut with the film. The makers have released the teaser of the film and here is what our takeaways are from the teaser.

Strong Visuals

The floods that ravaged the state of Uttarakhand in 2013 and almost threatened to destroy the centuries-old holy shrine of Kedarnath saw nature at its most terrifying avatar. The makers have done a good job of capturing that trauma and magnanimity of the calamity. The visuals are pretty well shot and conveys the horror of the situation.

A Promising Debut

We have seen all the paparazzi pictures of Sara Ali Khan, but Saif’s daughter looks absolutely gorgeous in the film. Sara is probably playing the role of a local girl who is caught in the middle of this trauma and chaos. Apart from looking pretty, the film might also be a promising debut for the young starlet given the dramatic backdrop would give her ample opportunities to explore her acting chops.

Sizzling Chemistry

Even though they are sharing the screen for the first time, Sushant and Sara’s chemistry is quite on point. From cute romantic scenes to an intense and passionate liplock, they have a good screen presence together and it would probably be a pleasant experience to see this fresh pairing on-screen.

A Message of Religious Tolerance

The trailer of the film reveals that Sushant’s character is that of a ‘pitthu’ who carries pilgrims to the holy shrine on his back. It also reveals that his character is a Muslim and in the ending frame of the teaser we see him risking his life to save the holy ‘nandi bail’ which gives us the idea that the film is about a Hindu-Muslim love story in the holy lands of Kedarnath and has the message of religious tolerance at its core.

Subtle Tum Mile Throwback

It is probably the fact that Kedarnath is about love in the times of a natural calamity and the visual of water everywhere, the teaser reminded us a little bit of Tum Mile which was a love story set against the backdrop of 2005 Mumbai flood. The film interestingly starred Sara’s aunt Soha Ali Khan opposite Emraan Hashmi but unfortunately, was a dud at the box-office.
