Thanks To An Amazing Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput, Kedarnath Trailer Is Rife With Possibilities

After impressing us with the teaser, the makers of Kedarnath has finally released the trailer of the film. Kedarnath which is going to be the launch pad for Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan also stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead. The film is being directed by Abhishek Kapoor of the Kai Po Che fame.

Based on a love-story set against the backdrop of the ravaging floods of Uttarakhand in 2013, the trailer of the film is rife with of possibilities of being quite a stunning watch. Here are our takeaways from the trailer.

Really Strong Visuals

The fact that the film has been able to communicate the enormity of the disaster that ravaged the temple town of Kedarnath and the subsequently the whole state of Uttarakhand, through its visual was apparent in the teaser itself, and the trailer does not disappoint either. From capturing the serene beauty of the city of Kedarnath and pristine and old Kedarnath temple and the adjoining settlements to the terror of nature of ravaging the landscape, the cinematography of the film is surely going to be something that is going to impress us.

Has A Little Kedarnath Tourism Video Vibes

It is perhaps a little difficult to escape the tourism video vibes when you are dealing with a place like Kedarnath which is mostly about the temple and the barrage of pilgrims it gets every year. Thus, the tourism video vibes of the trailer, although inescapable, is a little too evident.

The Love Story Feels Heartfelt

We talked about the sizzling chemistry between Sushant and Sara in the teaser itself, and the trailer just confirmed that our first impressions were not wrong. Sara who is making quite a strong debut with Kedarnath is getting to explore a lot with her character and the love story panning out between a Hindu girl of probably a higher caste and a Muslim boy who carries the pilgrims to the temple of Kedarnath, set against the backdrop of the traumatizing natural calamity is surely going to be high on intense passion and the montage of the budding romance also connects really well and thus the love story has a genuine feel to it which would be interesting to see on-screen. The Background Score Works

Apart from the strong visuals, the other aspect that really seems to work in the favor of the film is the background score of the film. The film, as apparent from the trailer, has very little dialogues, thus whether it is the tension of a love story that is rife with communal tension or the trauma of the raging water swallowing the landscapes, a lot is being conveyed, quite effectively, with the background score. Also, if the quality of the background score is anything to go by then the music of the film is also going to be pretty impressive.

Will Probably Give Us Some Peek Into Unique Culture Of The Place

So much has been said and discussed about the pristine temple of Kedarnath, the hauntingly beautiful landscape and the unprecedented terror of nature that the place witnessed in 2013, but very little do we know about the unique culture of this place and the live of the people in this temple city. After the debacle that was Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Kedarnath will probably give us a sneak peek into the Pahari culture and the unique lives of the people of the city of Kedarnath whose lives literally orbits around the ancient shrine of Kedarnath.

Possible Controversies

The main priest of the temple of Kedarnath has already called for a ban of the movie, and going by some bold scenes in the trailer as far as religious sensivities are concerned, the film might run into some troubles. Also, Sara Ali Khan in the trailer says, “To mai tab tak jaap karungi jab tak parlay nahi aata’ might not sit well with a few people.
