We Just Saw Prince Narula’s Music Debut Burnout And We Have Questions, Lot Of Them!

First it was Roadies where all tasks proved too little of a challenge for him, then there was Splitsvilla  where things got a little weird and then it was Bigg Boss, where as usual, a lot happened, but what remained constant was the presence of one Prince Narula.

After setting some sort of record in participating and winning reality shows, Prince turned his focus towards acting and was seen playing the lead in Badho Bahu. But this ‘bhandaar’ of talent cannot content himself with one thing and thus now this part-time actor and full-time boyfriend of Yuvika Chaudhry has ventured into music and has released his first music video to which he has lent his voice too. We just saw the video and we have a lot of question that we need answers to.

Why Is He Singing?

So he is conventionally well built and handsome and going by his streak on Roadies, Splitsvilla and Bigg Boss we know that he has weird skills and strength for bizarre ‘tasks’ and we know that he is an amazing boyfriend to Yuvika and to be honest he isn't too bad in Badho Bahu either. Given we as an audience has validated all his skills and talent, why does he have to showcase his singing talent that he clearly does not have? Even after a ton of very obvious auto-tuning he sounds like that one drunk friend who won’t quit singing despite all the pleas.

Why Is The Beginning Of The Video An AV?

The beginning of the video is pretty confusing, to be honest. We understand that it was done to give us a sense of how his journey started but putting the montages of all his previous reality show made us feel like instead of a music video it is the AV that reality shows play while introducing a contestant on the show. why?

Why Does It Look Like A Car Advertisement?

So this is not the first time that car has been the most important item in a Punjabi music video and this one is no different. Its just that Baadshah and Honey Singh videos have the production budget to afford multiple Lamborghinis and Aston Martins, but this is like the budget ad of the same nature with such one Ferrari and one Prince Narula who is trying way too hard to look cool.

Can Punjabi Music Videos Ever Become Less Generic?

We have waited and waited but to no avail, Punjabi music videos still can’t get over the few tropes that it has fallen irrevocably for. This song, like every other song, is all about the same old swagger and the guy boasting of his skills with cars and ‘kudis’. Why are they hung up on drawing this one parallel and will Punjabi music videos ever be less generic?

Why Does It Look Like Prince’s Pre Wedding Shoot?

You Know one of those really high budget pre-wedding photoshoots where the groom or the ‘hero’ is introduced with a lot of swagger and drone shots while he drives a fast car in different Indian and foreign locations? Apart from boasting about his skill with girls (that part is edited out in every pre-wedding shoot) this song can be totally used for Prince’s introduction for his pre-wedding shoot for his impending nuptials with Yuvika this year. Talking about Yuvika, she is also there in the video, riding a jeep in a desert and smiling knowingly. Yeah, we don’t get it either.
