Welcome To New York's Lacklustrous Song 'Pant Me Gun' Is Full Of Innuendo!

After a trailer that has a crowd of Bollywood actors spouting laugh-a-minute dialogues, the makers of Welcome To New York have come up with a song that’s full of innuendo. The lacklustre song titled, Pant Me Gun, has been sung by the film’s lead Diljit Dosanjh and is composed by Sajid-Wajid.

The song goes like, “Sadda bhi apana tashan hai, saddi pant me gun hai,” which can roughly be translated to “I have my own style, and I have a gun in my pant.”

Intercutting between a stage performance and Bollywood celebrities sitting among the audiences, it further goes like “Say boom, boom, boom, there’s hottie in my room.” Nothing more than an attempt to rhyme words, the song is very unlike Diljit Dosanjh whose Punjabi hits work because of their focus on melody.

Directed by Chakri Toleti, the film is also a comeback of sorts to acting for filmmaker Karan Johar who was last seen in Bombay Velvet . The film also features Sonakshi Sinha , Ritiesh Deshmukh, Sushant Singh Rajput and Rana Daggubati in prominent roles.

It seems Welcome To New York, which is slated to hit the screens on February 23, wants to capitalise on self referential humour, celeb jokes and situational comedy. The film’s trailer has received more than 19 million views in a few days.
