India captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood star Anushka Sharma ’s wedding reception in Delhi turned out to be a celeb-studded affair. The guest list also included PM Modi among other politicians and high profile businessmen.

With a neatly-tied bun encircled in a mogra gajra, Anushka wore a traditional red and gold saree designed by Sabyasachi with a heavy palla and jadau jewellery; chuda and sindoor in place.

Virat appeared dapper in a black achkan and white churidaar and heavily embroidered shawl with golden border in black mojris.

Virat helped Anushka onto the stage as they posed for the shutterbugs as fans flanked the streets for the two.

9:40 PM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is among the guests. A week ago, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have gone to his office to invite him for the reception.

9:10 PM: The reception has a delicious menu that includes Rajasthani and sea food.

8:57 PM: There is a reason Sabyasachi is said to be the best Indian designer when it comes to planning outfits related to wedding. In an Instagram post, he emphasises on the importance of colour red in the bride’s clothes. Anushka Sharma’s red saree will remain etched in our memories for a long time.

8:30 PM: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have come out of the venue for the waiting photographers. The decor of the alfresco stage matched with the trousseau and sherwani they wore on their D-Day in Italy.

8:27 PM: A smiling Virat Kohli seems to be enjoying the attention. The stage glimmered with the decoration likened to a glass-studded palace in place and the burning white candles atop crystal fixtures added an old-wordly charm to the whole set-up in the fine crescent night.
